He’s one of the most exciting new artists of the past year and a half and after dropping three hit singles, TiMO ODV has finally released his debut EP ‘Origins’. The record features smash hits such as ‘Find A Way’, ‘I Need You’, the new single ‘Make You Love Me’ featuring fellow newbie, Ryki and a few banging remixes.
How Many Good Tracks: 7 of the 10.
What I Liked: I am a big fan of TiMO ODV. Not only have his singles been consistent, but he pushes boundaries in such an artistic way which has changed the local dance space entirely. So, naturally, you can expect a whole lot more of that on this EP. Tracks such as ‘Make You Love Me’ and ‘Dancing Again’ are darker than we’ve ever heard the DJ and, honestly, they’re a breath of fresh air. TiMO ODV is a mix between commercial pop music and alternative dance and finds a special way to crossover and appeal to the pop and urban markets. Each and every track on the EP is produced impeccably and the DJ does an impressive job with the songwriting and vocals on the tracks. This EP is a great introduction. I think TiMO ODV shows us who he really is through his music and I can hear the passion in each track. I have a feeling TiMO ODV is going to be around for a very long time.

What I Didn’t Like: While I believe that this is a great introduction to TiMO ODV as an artist, I do believe the EP wasn’t packaged correctly. TiMO ODV has confirmed that the physical and the digital copies of the album will contain different tracklistings. On the digital release, the producer left out his debut single ‘Save Me’ from the tracklist. The star also includes extended editions of follow-up singles ‘Find My Way’ and ‘I Need You’ instead of radio edits. That being said, TiMO revealed that the physical release, which is not yet available, will include the radio edits of his smash hits including ‘Save Me’. The singer added that the digital release is geared more to DJs, however, since only a 10-track EP, I think there was an opportunity to please both DJs and fans with one release. I also think that, after a year and a half on the scene, this would have been a perfect opportunity for TiMO ODV to release his debut album instead of an EP. However, I know he is a perfectionist and spends a lot of time perfecting each and every release which I admire.
Best Track: Make You Love Me (Feat. Ryki)
