The soulful house of Familia, Mi Casa’s fourth LP is inspired by camaraderie—and the bond this lively threesome has developed with audiences across the continent since 2011’s self-titled debut. In combining local elements of jazz, Afro house and gospel—with more exotic references to the music of Brazil and the Cape Verde—this SAMA-winning group deliver an eclectic crossover of epic proportions. Opening track “Nana” effortlessly showcases the band’s trademark sound—Dr Duda’s production, J'Something’s cool vocals and Mo-T’s infectious trumpet playing—to full effect.
